Collectors Alert!! 1960s-1970s absolutely stunning full length wool coat from Originala for Saks Fifth Avenue. This tangerine beauty is as luxe as they come. The construction (ILGWU/Made in USA) is extraordinary--as is the condition! Mandarin collar and six matching frog closures down the front. Hidden pockets on the side seams. Fully and richly lined in a slightly lighter orange tone with the ILGWU and Saks Fifth Avenue labels--as well as the Iconic Originala label inside. NOTE: The actual color is more toward the tangerine than red. If you would like to see additional photos, please let us know.
A rare and collectible piece! Originala coats were featured on many high-end fashion magazines of the time and modeled by the likes of Wilhemina and other supermodels of the era.
Ilie Wacs was the head designer at Originala from 1964 through 1972, and Louis Dell’Olio worked there from 1971 through 1974. Originala was one of the most expensive and luxurious coat lines made at the time. In the late 1960s, these coats started at $500!
NOTE: The actual color is more toward the tangerine than red. If you would like to see additional photos, please let us know. More photos available upon request.
