I rarely start a garment description with talk of the lining BUT the coolest thing about this dress is the BRIGHT PINK SILK LINING of the bodice that plays peek-a-boo from every angle. Also cool: Made in USA with the ILGWU Label!

Glittering gold lurex Eloise Curtis for David Styne evening gown. Sleeveless column gown with slight Empire waist is in suburb condition. A deep scoop neck is accented by an oversized matching gold lurex bow at the Empire waist.
The dress has a deep v back with hidden zipper closure. There are slide slits on both sides. Made in USA with the ILGWU Label! Fully lined.

The NYTs considered Eloise Curtis a designer for "The Forgotten Woman"--those between ages (get this) 25-35. B. Altman dedicated an entire salon to marketing to this age group. Whatever you may think of the ageism, Curtis' "pert" designs did appeal in the 1960s and 1970s to a group of women who didn't do hippie clothes but also did not want to look like the mother of the bride.

Satisfying the desires of the demo, the aesthetic tended to be bright, mod colors, patterns and fabrics designed for more "adult" events like cocktail and dinner parties, having her husband's boss over for dinner--that kind of thing AND in other words--Mad Men. This dress personifies her look and the Mad Men world.
