So pristine it's hard to believe it's vintage! Impeccable like new 1960s hostess gown / maxi dress. Slightly empire waist on a solid black velvet bodice with scoop neck. Long sleeves in black velvet that taper to the wrist and close with zippers (see photo). The Empire waist is embellished with large gold tone door knocker rings that are outta this world cool. The skirt is quilted with an oversized paisley pattern in tones of red, burgundy, green, gold and blue. Gold tone beads outline every paisley on the skirt! To top it all off, the hemline is further embellished with another row of killer gold tone door knocker trim! The dress has a long hidden back zipper closure.
Joan Leslie by Kasper was a high end brand in the 1960s. High end materials were used then and the brand designed by Herbert Kasper was sold at high end stores like Neiman Marcus.
