This gorgeous museum quality piece was imported by the famous Blum’s Vogue in Chicago. We don’t know the original designer but we know that it was made in Paris. The neckline hits right around the collar bone, not quite off the shoulder. There are 6 buttons going down from the top to the waist in the front covered in the same fabric as the dress. There are also snaps on the inside from the bottom of the waist to mid thigh that helps shape the dress. There are loops for a belt that was once included with the design. The skirt is full and hits around the ankle. The skirt is pleated all around at the waist, giving the dress a full look to it. The pattern reminds one of a Monet painting and is lovely and vibrant in real life.
Per LA Times: Blum’s Vogue in Chicago, which was the first store to import French couture to America in the 1920s.
